Encore, again…

Another fat hatchery guy (guess) sippin’ around on Streeter Pond. The weather warmed up a bit and brought out some bugs this morning, so I switched over to a midge (CDC Griffiths Gnat) and started casting to the spots where fish were sipping. I caught two fish almost immediately before the wind picked up and sent fish below, one of which was perhaps even a bit heftier than yesterday’s “Encore”. There is really hardly anything better than encore multipliers.

  1. All the trout should be plump this time of year, good chance your catching spring stocked fish (or even hold overs from last year), unless F&G has changed what time of year they stock for ice fishing. In the past it’s been late October into Nov. Streeter is know for holding nice trout and is a fav of spring and fall anglers – enjoy the fall and think spring 😉
Great fish porn, keep it coming!

    1. Thanks, Nome! I wondered, because they seemed to become active all of the sudden. It’s really cool to think that these healthy fish have been poking around and thriving in their environment for a good while. Very adaptive… those trout.
